Legal
Terms for using The Country Member website and app, operated by Interlink Digital Group Limited.
By browsing the marketing site, creating an account, or using The Country Member app, you agree to these terms with Interlink Digital Group Limited (“IDG”, “we”, “us”).
If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy notice explains how we process personal data.
The Country Member provides unofficial golf scorecard tools, including Stableford and other formats described in the product, player rosters, course selection, offline-capable score entry, and scorecard export.
The service does not issue or maintain official World Handicap System indexes. Handicaps and points shown in the app are for recreational scoring and society use only. They are not an official handicap service.
Club and course names and marks are used only to identify venues played. That does not mean any club, association or governing body endorses or is affiliated with The Country Member. Do not treat exported cards as official competition records unless your committee says otherwise.
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in the United Kingdom (or have a parent or guardian’s agreement where required). The service is aimed at adults managing recreational rounds.
You may enter details about playing partners (for example name and handicap index) so you can record a group round. You confirm that you are entitled to enter that information and that you will not use the service to misuse others’ personal data.
You are responsible for the accuracy of rounds, scores and roster data entered under your account. We may remove or restrict content that appears unlawful or that threatens the security or integrity of the platform.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or create risk to the service or other users.
Plans (including Free, Pro and Society) are described on the Pricing page and may change over time. Features marked as Phase 2 or “when shipped” are not guaranteed until they are live.
Paid plans are billed in GBP through Stripe. Taxes (including VAT) may apply. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can manage or cancel paid subscriptions in the Stripe Customer Portal (linked from Account when billing is enabled).
If payment fails, we may retry charges and may limit the account to Free features until payment succeeds or the subscription ends. Refunds, where required, follow applicable UK consumer law and any specific Stripe / plan terms shown at checkout.
You retain rights in the round and roster content you create. You grant IDG a limited licence to host, process, display and export that content as needed to provide the service.
The Country Member name, branding, software, design and documentation remain IDG’s (or our licensors’) property. Course datasets may be licensed from third parties; you may use them inside the app for scoring, but you must not copy the library for competing products or wholesale redistribution.
Scorecard images and similar exports are for personal and society sharing (for example messaging a playing group). Free plans may include The Country Member branding on exports. Do not remove branding in a way that misrepresents the source of the card if branding is required for your plan.
If we later offer shareable links, those remain subject to these terms and the Privacy notice.
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting issues or network conditions may affect the site or sync.
Offline scoring depends on your device storage and browser. Scores entered offline may sync when connectivity returns. Delays, conflicts or lost local data can occur; keep important records separately if you need an independent backup for a competition.
The service is provided for recreational scoring on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by UK law, IDG is not liable for competition decisions, handicap disputes between players or clubs, losses caused solely by offline sync delays, or decisions you make based on unofficial handicap or points displays.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Subject to the above, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the subscription fees you paid us for The Country Member in that period, and (b) £50.
You may stop using the service at any time. You may ask us to close your account and delete personal data as described in the Privacy notice.
We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if continuing would create security or operational risk. Paid plan rights end when the subscription ends or the account is closed, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights.
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. If you continue to use the service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms, except where UK law requires a different process for material changes to paid contracts.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your habitual residence in the UK where the law allows.
